The short answer
Track invoice collection, i.SAF review, VAT preparation, submission evidence and payment coordination in separate steps. Assign owners and dates before using this checklist.
Steps and review controls
| Step | Required input | Review control |
|---|---|---|
| Confirm scope and period | VAT registration and reporting period | Check applicability and current official instructions |
| Collect invoices | Issued and received invoices; corrections | Record missing items and cut-off |
| Prepare invoice register | Invoice data and ledger | Check duplicates, dates and classifications |
| Review i.SAF | Prepared register | Explain exceptions before submission |
| Prepare VAT return | Reviewed ledger and register | Document differences between outputs |
| Approve and submit | Reviewed return and permissions | Retain accepted submission evidence |
| Coordinate payment | Confirmed amount and applicable payment date | Record payment evidence separately from filing |
| Close exceptions | Outstanding queries | Name next owner and action |
Confirm the client and period
Use these steps to define the work for one client and accounting period. Confirm which obligations apply and remove irrelevant steps. Keep the calculation and ledger work in your accounting system; use Claister to coordinate the people, deadlines and follow-up around it.
Allow time for preparation and review
Set internal preparation and review targets before the applicable filing or payment date. Verify the reporting period and current official instructions for the client. A monthly recurring task helps organize the work; its schedule does not establish legal applicability or change a statutory deadline.
Make completion mean something
For each step, identify the required input, the person doing the work and the review control. Record unresolved questions and their next owner. Keep an accepted filing confirmation distinct from a draft, and payment evidence distinct from filing evidence. Attach the relevant supporting documents to the work before marking it complete.
Set up the process in Claister
- Create a task template in Settings → Task templates and add the applicable steps as checklist items.
- Use the template when creating a monthly recurring task for the relevant clients. Choose the responsible person, due day and first period, then check the schedule preview.
- Create a separate review task when the work needs another person’s approval. Link supporting documents and keep open questions with the client’s work.
- Review each period in Recurring and Tasks. Update the template for future work when the process changes.
Organize the work in Claister
Create a task template with the applicable checklist steps, then set up recurring work for your clients with responsible people and deadlines. You configure the process in your workspace.
