The short answer
Financial Cents documents a Zapier route that creates a client from a new Xero contact; that is not proof of native two-way ledger synchronisation. Specify the objects, actions and failure handling your firm needs, then test those requirements across the shortlist. Choose around the actual workflow rather than integration logos.
The basis of this guide
The Claister team wrote this comparison and includes its own pilot product. We reviewed official documentation on 6 October 2026. We did not perform equivalent hands-on tests of every service, and the shortlist is not a ranking. Verify current plans, regional terms and the required connections before purchasing.
Financial Cents is not simply 'QuickBooks only'
Financial Cents' integration collection lists several connection routes. Its Xero guide describes using Zapier to create a Financial Cents client from a new Xero contact. That documented action is different from a native two-way ledger sync.
The distinction matters in both directions. Do not reject the product based on an outdated claim that no Xero connection exists. Do not assume the documented client-creation action moves invoice, balance or payroll data. Write down which object and action your firm actually needs.
Separate the workflow from the financial record
An integration requirements worksheet
| Need | Precise question | Acceptance evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Client records | Which fields move, and which system owns updates? | Changed contact tested in both systems |
| Time | Do entries move, and how are people and clients mapped? | An entry appears once with the correct owner |
| Documents | Are files copied, linked or synchronised? | Version and access checked |
| Financial data | Which invoices, balances or transactions are readable? | A defined query matches the ledger |
| Failure handling | Who sees a failed or repeated event? | Retry and duplicate behaviour demonstrated |
A practice-management tool need not replace the ledger to be useful. If your main need is assigning work, chasing evidence and reserving review, a controlled manual handoff may be acceptable. If a real-time financial-data connection is essential, test that exact requirement instead of assuming any general connector is sufficient.
A shortlist with different evaluation priorities
Alternatives to evaluate
| Option | Evaluation priority | Question for the trial |
|---|---|---|
| Karbon | Email collaboration and work ownership | Can another employee continue a client thread? |
| Uku | Recurring work, time and budgets | Can actual effort explain a client-budget overrun? |
| TaxDome | A wider client-service bundle | Which required journeys stay in one tool? |
| Claister | Client periods, evidence gaps and reviewed assistance | Can the team trace a missing item to its request and task? |
Sources for the shortlist: Karbon plans, Uku plans and TaxDome plans. Request a current quote for the required features and connectors. Include extra tools, setup and workflow changes in the comparison.
Claister's fit needs a specific test
Claister organises recurring work, requests, documents, messages and time alongside existing ledgers. Its repository documents a client-by-client Site.pro (B1) connection, including accounting-data reads; this does not establish support for every ledger or every write operation. Demonstrate the actual connection your firm needs.
The product remains a pilot, with English and Russian UI. Its AI prepares reviewed suggestions; it does not post ledger entries or file returns on its own. This guide does not claim parity with Financial Cents billing, signatures or every integration, nor a specific data-residency guarantee.
Test a whole period before choosing
Mixed-ledger pilot
Mixed-ledger pilot
- Use representative clients from each required ledger.
- Confirm source ownership and field mapping.
- Prepare one recurring cycle and a partly returned request.
- Test the exact connector action, failure and retry.
- Check what the client and substitute accountant can access.
- Export final work and verify that history remains usable.
- Compare total cost and manual work after one complete period.
Use the selection rubric for a consistent assessment and the client handover checklist to preserve open work. Staying with Financial Cents may be sensible if the tested workflow already meets your needs; moving should produce an identifiable improvement.
Questions
Its official guide documents a Zapier route that creates a client from a new Xero contact. Verify any additional action you need; that guide does not prove full ledger synchronisation.
It depends on the workflow. Define which data must move and whether a reviewed manual handoff is adequate before making native integration a mandatory criterion.
